The powertrain is what distinguishes all Tesla vehicles from others. Tesla demonstrated to the world that electric vehicles can be more than glorified golf carts.

They accomplished this by designing stunning automobiles that could compete with the best gas-powered vehicles on the market.

The Model 3 base trim was supposed to have a 50-kWh battery when Tesla first unveiled it in 2017. The range of this battery was predicted to be 220 miles. The other option was a 75-kWh battery with a range of 310 miles.

The Model 3 base trim, on the other hand, was not made when the Tesla Model 3 went into production. When it comes to car manufacture, firms frequently overpromise and underdeliver.

Tesla, on the other hand, did the exact opposite; they over-delivered on their promise in this situation.

When the Model 3 first rolled off the assembly line in 2017, it was equipped with a battery that used 2,170 size lithium-ion cells.

The Model 3’s interior design is eerily similar to that of the Model S, with its maxi-minimalist aesthetic.

The dashboard consists of a slab of wood, a full-width air vent, and a landscape-oriented 15.4-inch touchscreen, rather than the larger portrait screen found in the S.

The screen appears to float in mid-air from where you sit, in a little narrow but an otherwise comfy chair.

The only physical buttons you’ll find in the cabin are two unmarked scroll wheels on the steering wheel (left blank so Tesla can change their functions if necessary via software updates), regular for the electric windows, a button for the hazard lights above your head, and a button on the grab handle to open each door, though there’s a physical lever below that in case the electrics catch a glitch.

The Model 3’s powertrain includes an inverter with 24 pairs of silicon carbide and MOSFET circuits, each with 650 volts. A Dual Motor powertrain is used in the 2021 Model 3 performance.

The automobile went from 0 to 60 MPH in 3.1 seconds with this powerplant. This car is faster than the majority of performance cars in its class.

The normal trim clears the sprint in 5.3 seconds, while the long-range trim clears it in 4.2 seconds.

450 HP and 471 lb-ft of torque are delivered by the Dual Motor pack in the performance. 346 horsepower and 389 pound-feet of torque are generated by the long-range powerplant.

The powertrain generates 283 horsepower and 307 pound-feet of torque in the basic grade.
