The 2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT6: An Absolute Powerhouse


Prior to the Crossfire SRT6, the Chrysler Crossfire Limited Coupe was available. SRT elements, which stood for “Street and Racing Technology,” were incorporated into the 2005 Crossfire, which made it unique.

The Crossfire was reworked based on this, with a racing DNA unleashed, for more efficient performance.

The sporty appeal was emphasized on the sides by gleaming 15-spoke SRT-themed wheels with an 18-inch front diameter and a 19-inch rear diameter.

Aero Blue, Graphite Metallic, Sapphire Silver Blue Metallic, and Black were the four colors available for the Crossfire SRT6.

Other Features

The Crossfire SRT6 has a new set of suspensions to improve handling, making it the most driver-friendly car in the Crossfire family.

In the case of the Crossfire SRT6 Coupe and Crossfire SRT6 Roadster, the suspension arrangement was different.

The spring rates for both axles were increased, and the Coupe’s front and rear spring rates were 451 lb-in and 480 lb-in, respectively.

In the case of the Roadster, these figures altered to 434 lb-in at the front and 491 lb-in at the rear. The SRT6’s front spring rate was 50%, and the rear spring rate was 42%.

The SRT6 had a powerful engine with a top speed of 200 mph, and the car’s improved aerodynamics added to its speed. As a result, Chrysler emphasized the vehicle’s braking capability.

With 330 x 32 mm internally vented discs and 44/44mm dual-piston calipers for the front wheels, the braking system was greatly improved.300 x 22 mm discs with 42/42 mm calipers were used on the back wheels.

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 multi-compound tires were used on them, which provided excellent grip and control.

The design and elements of the interior have not been significantly altered. For the benefit of the driver and rider, some sporty characteristics were added. The seats and steering wheel are upholstered in high-quality Nappa leather with grip-enhancing Alcantara suede.

Comfortable bolsters on the seats were made from the same material. Gray stitching was also used on the seats, which were embroidered with SRT6 marks.

Everything was within easy reach of the driver on the instrument panel, which was simple and driver-centric.

For enhanced visibility, brilliant illumination was added to the gauges and switches. A comfortable and dramatic stereo system provided enjoyment inside.

The 3.2-liter 18-valve supercharged SOHC engine in the Crossfire SRT6 developed 330 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque.

When compared to the base model, the intercooler supercharger increased power by 115 horsepower and 81 lb-ft of torque.

Furthermore, the engine was fitted with a high-tech blower that improved the engine’s performance even at maximum rpm.

A 5-speed automatic transmission, which replaced a 6-speed manual in earlier generations, regulated and delivered engine power to the rear wheels.

The SRT6 could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds and 40 mph in 12.4 seconds because of its powerful engine and quick automatic transmission.

The automobile could complete a quarter-mile run with one extra second. The Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 was a high-powered, performance-oriented sportscar.

The automobile featured a highly powerful engine that was at the time the most powerful in the sports car category, as well as a smooth performance that won many hearts.

Although the car was discontinued a long time ago, several car dealers still sell it for a reasonable price on their websites.
